Episode 1. The Big U
Chuck and P.T. return from photographing a large forest fire when they are hired by a grocery store owner to try to locate his father-in-law, Elliot Stevens, who has gone to the mountains looking for uranium. The store owners father-in-law had previously left behind a piece of high content uranium ore. Chuck comes up with a plan to use a gieger counter to see if they can locate the old man and see if he has truly found a uranium strike. The boys soon find some resistance from two men who insist they haven't seen anyone and want the boys to leave them alone. When the boys continue to search for Elliot, the two men start shooting at them. Now they have to try to find Elliot Stevens and not get shot in the process.

Episode 2. Gorilla
Chuck and P.T. are hired to track down a gorilla who has escaped from the circus. Congo, the simian in question, has not been performing due to an illness, so his trainer tries to give him a shot of penicillin. Congo makes his getaway before he receives any help and proceeds to terrorize the townsfolk. Chuck and P.T. are able to confront the gorilla and restore order to the town.

Episode 3. Boy on the Roof
A young rebel, Dave Williams, decides to make a stand against the law by climbing onto the roof of a building. He is upset over treatment his older brother has received. A newspaper reporter is able to talk P.T. into flying him up to the roof to speak with Dave. The teen looks like he will give up soon, but the reporter knows that if he can keep him up there longer, he will have a better story. The police chief becomes involved and decides that he can get Dave down with no incident. He joins forces with Chuck and P.T. to save the young man.

Episode 4. Fire Flight
Chuck and P.T. must rush against time to save three mountain climbers, who are stranded near a raging forest fire. When they arrive on the scene, one male climber is badly injured, one is in a state of shock, and the third one is nearly hysterical.

Episode 5. Hot Wire
P.T. and Chuck begin their mission to deliver an iron lung to a mining construction office for a sick child. A wind storm picks up and makes flying very dangerous. The iron lung begins to slip from its moorings and P.T. must secure the iron lung, while Chuck flies the 47G carefully along the edge of a mountain ridge. They arrive at the site safely, but an electrical storm sets in and the power goes out. The pilots must think of a plan to save the child.

Episode 6. Mountain Flight
Chuck and P.T. are hired by a well-dressed man, Don Malloy, to fly him on a weekend hunting trip in the mountains. The pilots soon discover that this is no ordinary hunting trip. One of Malloy's friends, Sandy Kerner, comes to them for assistance. Sandy explains that the trip was really planned to murder someone who owed money to a gambling syndicate. Sandy knows this because he helped work on the plot. Unwittingly, the marked man is really Sandy and he fears for his life!

Episode 7. Ghost Town Flight
Chuck and P.T. are flying a shipment of serum to a hospital when they spot a young boy on his own in the foothills. They realize the boy is suffering from shock and heat exhaustion. He seems delirious and is uttering garbled sentences, but may be trying to tell them something! Once at the hospital, the boy, identified as Ricky Scott, is able to tell them that he had gone on a camping trip with his older brother and another friend. The pilots must figure out what has happened to the two other boys.

Episode 8. Hostage
Three escaped prisoners force the pilots' secretary to hand over the keys to an aircraft, knock her unconscious, and make their airborne escape. The prison warden arrives and fills Chuck and P.T., just back from a mission, in on the situation. Chuck and P.T. go after the prisoners while the warden awaits news back at the office. Meanwhile, the convicts are forced to come back to the airfield because they are running low on avgas! Duly replenished, they come upon the warden alone in the Whirlybirds office, take him hostage, and try their escape once again.

Episode 9. Diamond Smugglers
Chuck and P.T. are accused of smuggling diamonds into Mexico. A helicopter marked with their registration number, N975B, was seen there on the same day the diamonds were smuggled across the border. The pilots have an alibi and give the agents a client's address, confident the client will vouch that they had taken him on a fishing trip. Unfortunately, the address turns out to be a vacant lot! Now it's up to Chuck and P.T. to clear their name as they proceed to search for their missing "client".

Episode 10. Lynch Mob
A man takes the law into his own hands and shoots a deputy who has come to evict him and his wife from their cabin. The man who wants the couple evicted starts a mob riot in the name of vengeance for the shooting. A newspaper man hires Chuck and P.T. to take him to the place of action. The pilots, along with the newspaper man, try to convince the hunter to surrender. He does surrender and the pilots start to take him to the authorities, but are spotted by the lynch mob and become objects of the crowd's fury.

Episode 11. Sky Net
Ben Carling hires the pilots to take him on a hunting trip. Ben claims he wants to kill some predators stalking local sheep herds. Chuck and P.T. sense there is more to the story though, as the man is too tense, too focused on the hunt. As the adventure unfolds they learn that, Ahab-like, Carling is intent on killing a certain mountain lion because he lost a hand in an earlier encounter with the animal.

Episode 12. Prison Break
The pilots have a new pupil, Linda Watson. She is attractive and very charming, and soon learns enough about their Bell 47 to be able to fly solo. Departing on her solo flight, she starts flying the wrong way! Ignoring all orders to come back to the airport, Linda heads for a nearby prison to help her boyfriend escape. P.T. and Chuck must chase down the woman and her boyfriend.

Episode 13. Top of the Mountain
The pilots are hired by a wealthy businessman to fly through some rough weather and bring "medical supplies" to his mountain retreat. P.T. and Chuck are not happy when the so-called "medical supplies" turn out to be a box of cigars! With the weather closing in, they decide to stay overnight and return to Longwood Field the next morning. In the meantime, they befriend the businessman's seven year old son and promise to take him flying in better weather. But next morning they wake to discover that the boy has set out to climb a mountain top on his own and is in danger.

Episode 14. Operation Blue Hen
Chuck and P.T. agree to deliver a solid fuel bomb into a canyon, where it will be tested. But there are complications. Chuck soon discovers that the scientist involved with the testing, David Davis, is an old rival: Davis is married to the lady who was once Chuck's fianceé! Chuck must come to terms with both the complexities of the mission and the pain of facing his ex-betrothed.

Episode 15. The Human Bomb
Driving through town, Chuck and P.T. pick-up a new client at a street corner. Before they can get to the airport, their client, Mr. Garvey, has them stop at a bank. Mr. Garvey then proceeds to rob the place, threatening that he has a bomb in a small black box he carries. He stuffs a bag with loot and gets back into the car. Garvey threatens the pilots with the bomb and forces them to fly him to a mountain, where he is meeting an accomplice. The bank robber then ties up the pilots and makes his getaway in a car. Garvey ends up holding a family hostage in their home. It is up to P.T. and Chuck, along with the police, to save the family.

Episode 16. Missing Witness
While flying, Chuck and P.T. notice a couple's car being forced off the road. A hot pursuit takes place and has the couple trying to escape from some gangsters. The pilots call the police and proceed to land and try to save the couple. They learn that the couple, Virginia and Jerry Clark, are supposed to testify against the head of a crime ring, but were frightened into fleeing the day before the trial.

Episode 17. The Egg Code

Episode 18. Superstition Mountain
Chuck and P.T. are hired by three prospectors to fly gold out from a mountain and bring in supplies. The mountain has a bad reputation, though: legend has it that if anyone tries to take gold away from the mountain (which is sacred to an Apache community), they will meet a most unseemly end. The pilots soon discover that the three prospectors have no trust for each other. Before the gold can be hauled away, two prospectors lie dead and the other is the prime suspect.

Episode 19. Homicide Haven
Chuck and P.T. discover a man, who claims to be a writer, living in a camouflaged dwelling in the middle of a desert. Upon returning to town, Chuck plows through back issues from the newspaper office and discovers that the man looks a lot like a missing financier sought by the police.

Chuck and P.T. frantically search for their secretary's nephew, who has hidden in the trunk of a rusted car. The car has been removed from a vacant lot en route to the junkyard. The boy has been unable to yell for help, is now unconscious, and running out of air. After an aerial search, the pilots finally locate the car in the junkyard, but find they don't have the equipment to shift the pile of metal scrap now resting atop the vehicle.

Episode 25. Hobson's Choice
Chuck and P.T. are hired to transport film from a location site for a motion picture company. P.T. happens to photograph a recluse rescuing the film's star. The photo creates a sensation in the newspapers. The recluse decides to sue P.T. for invasion of privacy, and even tries to shoot him! The pilots redeem themselves when they suddenly have to fly the recluse to a hospital after he has had a heart attack.

Episode 27. Journey to the Past
A stranger lures millionaire archaeologist Carter Jameson into helping him search for pre-Aztec ruins. Evidently a secret map will lead them all to wealth. The treasure seekers hire Chuck and P.T. to provide two helicopters and scout for the ancient site. Aided by the Whirlybirds, Jameson discovers the treasure trove, but before he can publicize his success, the stranger takes the loot and pushes him over the edge of a convenient cliff!

Episode 28. Aerial Circus
Chuck and P.T. are hired by circus aerial performers to teach them how to fly a Bell 47G they have bought for a new act. After one of the performer's solo flights, he returns with the helicopter pontoon floats damaged. Chuck and P.T. are suspicious as earlier an armored car had been forced off the highway and $200,000 stolen. When confronted, the aerialist threatens an aerial slugfest, ramming their 47G with his, should they try to move in on him.

Episode 29. Cycle of Terror
A lone gunman is going around town taking potshots at people from his motorcycle. Helen, Chuck and P.T.'s secretary, is out for a motorcycle ride with her boyfriend when they are forced off the road by two hoodlums, who then harass the couple with knives. Luckily, Chuck and P.T. spot the assault from the air and land to help. The assault is thwarted, but as the helicopter lifts off to get back to business, a sniper's bullet hits the 47, damaging the throttle control. The police arrive forthwith and detain Helen's boyfriend for grilling.

Episode 30. Fury Canyon
Chuck and P.T. help out the local newspaperman in his search for a family that has disappeared from their trailer in the Mojave Desert. The pilots discover the trailer abandoned, as if the family had been suddenly forced to flee. The pilots begin their search, fearful for the family as nearby is a pack of wild horses that could endanger the people with a stampede.

Chuck, P.T., and a railroad detective receive an anonymous phone tip that there might be a bomb planted in a chemical plant. The ex-employee becomes irate when he learns that his brother has tipped off authorities and in his frenzy tries to hunt down the judge who once sentenced him.

Episode 33. Incident in Del Rio

Is there is a connection?

Episode 34. Sky Hook
Chuck and P.T. are busy photographing shore development when they intercept a SOS signal sent from a nearby lighthouse to the Coast Guard. Three men have been thrown against the rocks during a storm, and the lighthouse keeper has sprained his ankle. The Coast Guard is at least two hours away, so the pilots race to help.

Episode 35. The Secret Cove
Chuck and P.T. are hired by a wealthy sportsman's wife to find her husband, who has not returned from a trip up the coast in his cabin cruiser. The pilots finally find the boat stranded in an isolated cove surrounded by sheer cliffs. No one, however, is on the boat or in the area. The pilots copter home and are met by two insurance investigators. The agents are curious about the sportsman's whereabouts too, since he has recently taken out a hefty life insurance policy. Commandeering a second Bell 47, the four men fly back to the cove, determined to get to the bottom of the mystery.

Chuck and P.T. are hired to deliver a payroll to a construction camp, but bad weather forces them to abort the flight. They secure the money in their office safe, but tranquility does not last long! A professional safecracker, tipped off about the cash by someone at the construction site, breaks into the safe and steals the money --- but not all of it --- making it look like an inside job involving the Whirlybirds. It is now up to Chuck and P.T. to prove their innocence.

Dan Long, a melon farmer, hires Chuck and P.T. to help look over his fields, which straddle the Mexican border. An informant tips his hand and the authorities are called in --- but not before some of Long's double-dealing henchmen grab the gold and make off. Now Chuck and P.T. must head after the crooks and recover the stolen loot.

Episode 38. Iron Mountain
A government agent hires Chuck and P.T. to take him to see an old man who is refusing to give up his land in the name of progress. The fellow owns the last piece of mountain property the government needs to begin mining iron ore. No one is able to convince the old man to sign the papers, and he sets out with a young boy he has befriended to go berry picking. News filters back to Chuck and P.T. that two land speculators have meddled with a rope bridge the old man and the boy must cross. The pilots fly to the rescue, but can see from the air that the hikers have already begun their walk across ...

Episode 39. Panic at Green Ridge
Careening down a mountain road, a man crashes his car during a storm and is saved by Chuck and P.T. when they spot the wrecked car from the air. Once they arrive at the hospital with the injured man, the pilots learn that his wife, still back at their secluded mountain cabin, is in mortal danger from untreated appendicitis. Chuck and P.T., along with a doctor, fly back through the storm to bring the woman some medical help. They land safely, only to find that the electricity has been knocked out and the doctor needs light for the operation!

Episode 40. Seven Were Trapped
Departing for a crop dusting job, Chuck and P.T. hear a radio report about a mine cave-in. They decide to fly to the area to see if they can be of assistance. A second cave-in occurs and Chuck and P.T. are now the only ones who can help the trapped victims: all access to the rescue route has been cut off except one approachable by helicopter! The pilots are in constant danger, though, since more cave-ins could happen at any time.

Chuck and P.T. try to unravel a "who-dunnit" mystery when they find a battered license plate belonging to a car in which a man's wife disappeared. The husband, Donald Ashley, is appealing his conviction for the murder of his wife. Now it's up to Chuck and P.T. to figure out which body of water the car and body may lie in!

Episode 42. Hit and Run
Chuck and P.T. witness a hit-and-run accident. The police are notified and the pilots transport the victim to the hospital, where the victim later dies. The car is towed, with the help of the Bell 47, out of a ditch to await pick-up by the police. But the car vanishes before the police arrive --- later to be seen in the possession of a young man who claims he bought the car the morning after the hit-and-run! The used car dealer, however, claims that the car was sold the morning before the accident and produces a bill of sale to prove it. Chuck and P.T. are advised by the town ruffians to get back in their Bell and disappear, a warning repeated by the sheriff as well. Only one person offers assistance --- a beautiful young woman.

Chuck and P.T. fly a young Mexican feather-weight contender from his training camp to town for a fight. He is favored to win. Guilt-ridden and grieving, the young contender is unable to focus on the upcoming fight, now just minutes away. Chuck and P.T. put on detective caps and check out the young woman's story.

Chuck and P.T. witness a young boy being thrown from his horse when it stumbles. They land to help the boy when they realize the horse can't get up again. The pilots get the boy's father and a vet who determine that the horse, named "Mister Q," has a broken leg and will have to be destroyed. The boy becomes upset and runs away. Later Chuck finds out that the horse hasn't been put down and also comes upon some additional, more disquieting, news. The pilots try to uphold their promise to the boy that everything will, in the end, turn out fine.

Episode 49. Seven Orchids
P.T. receives a mysterious package containing seven orchids and half of a five-hundred-dollar bill. The telephone number for the address on the package has been disconnected, so Chuck and P.T. copter out to the address to see what is going on. Landing, they find a woman injured in a greenhouse where the orchids had been grown. The pilots get the sheriff and return to the scene with him, but the woman has disappeared along with any evidence of the previous trouble in the greenhouse! More puzzling incidents occur and the Whirlybirds find themselves ensnarled in an attempted murder.

Chuck and P.T. are hired by a man to fly him and his son, who is suffering from leukemia, to the Grand Canyon and then to a football game. The pilots learn that the father is the head of a crime syndicate and is wanted by police, who have been conducting ground searches for him. The pilots want to turn the man in, but are forced at gunpoint to continue with the father's plans for the day. But the itinerary abruptly changes when the young boy becomes sick and needs emergency treatment.

A photojournalist becomes intrigued with the fellow's story and begins to uncover clues for him. Subsequently, the man hears three names --- Helen, Ferndale and Buddy --- and sees a knife, all of which leads him to believe he may be a murderer!

Chuck and P.T. are hired by Chuck's former high school teacher, Miss Churchill, to fly her to a resort. Checking further, the pilots discover that Chuck's former teacher, now growing older, has been assigned less significant teaching duties. Episode 59. Dog Gone
The president of a company Chuck and P.T. are working for asks them to locate his spoiled young daughter's missing show dog, after it ran away at a picnic. After some investigation, they soon learn the dog has been adopted by a little crippled girl on a farm nearby. Talking it over between them, Chuck and P.T. can't bring themselves to take the dog away from the little girl so they search pet shops until they find a dog that looks almost identical. Problem is, the missing dog is a male and the pet store dog is a female. Now they have to fly the company president and his spoiled daughter to the farm to retrieve the dog with surprising results.

Episode 68. Glamor
The Whirlybirds pilots are hired to assist a glamorous actress and a film company crew during a shooting at a remote location in the mountains. One of the scenes takes place at an old hermit's small cabin. During a scene, the actress slips off of a rocky slope and is caught by the old hermit. P.T. takes a photograph of the rescue and sells the photo to a Hollywood newspaper. When P.T. goes to offer the old hermit a share of the proceeds, the old hermit gets angry and demands the picture not be published. The excitement of the photograph proves too much for the old hermit's heart and the boys rush him to the hospital. Quite a surprise awaits Chuck and P.T. when the hospital calls later telling them the old hermit requests the boys to come to his hospital room.

Episode 70. The Story of Sister Bridget
A good friend, Sister Bridget, who works in an orphanage, asks the help of Chuck and P.T. with a desperate situation. Andrew, a teenager Sister Bridget favors, went to live with foster parents on a farm and is not getting along too well. Sister Bridget wants to try to smooth things out with Andy and his foster parents. While they are on the way, Andy and his foster father have an argument and Andy steals the family pickup. Chuck, P.T., and Sister Bridget take off to find Andy figuring he has headed for the city. As they search, they encounter a possible robbery and beating that Andy may have committed. Unaware that Andy has gotten involved with a teenage killer, they and the police race to locate and capture Andy for the crimes, all the while hoping they are wrong about the young teen.

Episode 85. His Brother's Keeper
Chuck and P.T. are hired to return a briefcase from Bakersfield. Lt. Harry Anderson and a client meet the boys at the Whirlybirds hangar. The boys learn the briefcase contains $1,000,000 worth of diamonds. As Lt. Anderson and his client are in the car leaving, a car pulls up and two men get out with guns and steal the briefcase, shooting Lt. Harry Anderson. Chuck and P.T. fly the Lt to the hospital where Harry's brother, Steve, is waiting. In the hospital room, Harry manages to tell Chuck who the shot him before he dies. Things take a real twist when Harry's brother, Steve, hires the boys to fly him to where Harry's killer is supposed to be.

Episode 86. Obsession
Chuck and P.T. are hired by a psychiatrist to transport a mental patient to a sanitarium for treatment and observation. When they arrive to pick up the patient, he is under sedation. During the flight, the patient wakes up and insists that he is actually the psychiatrist and the patient sedated him to switch places. After learning who the patient really is, the boys have to help determine what the reason for the deception was and ultimately try to save a man's life.

Episode 87. Challenge
A well known heart surgeon, Dr. Evans, asks Chuck and P.T. to take him to his son, Clark Evans, also a heart surgeon, at a mountain lodge. Clark has invented an artificial heart valve and his young niece, Penny, is in need of his help. Unfortunately, Clark has had a breakdown after losing a child in surgery some time ago. Clark thinks it's too much of a coincidence that Penny has a similar ailment so soon. Chuck and P.T. come up with a plan to get Clark and his niece together at a local hospital to let him see she truly needs his help. When the boys go back to get Clark, he has left without word of when he will return. Now it's up to Chuck and P.T. to find Clark Evans and convince him to try to save his niece before it's too late.

Episode 88. The Big Lie
A young boy, named Billy, at an orphanage claims to know the Whirlybirds so he will be popular. The other boys don't believe him and give him a hard time. A housekeeper named Sarah at the school who has befriended Billy contacts the Whirlybirds and asks them to land at the school to back up Billy's claim and help his self esteem. The other boys soon learn it was Sarah who called the Whirlybirds and Billy runs away to escape the embarrassment. Billy hitches a ride with an escaped bank robber and his girl friend who then try to force Billy to help them rob another bank. Billy manages to get word to the Whirlybirds and helps the Whirlybirds capture the bank robbers. Billy soon becomes the local hero and true friend of the Whirlybirds and the other boys at the orphanage.

Episode 93. Two of a Kind
A small time construction firm executive, Morton Taylor, hires Chuck and P.T to fly him to a nearby manufacturing plant in the hopes of procuring the contract for an addition to the plant. It seems also that Morton Taylor is the spitting image of a gangster, Chet "Chopper" Channing who is soon going to trial. Right after the boys have flown Mr. Taylor to the plant a second time, the police inform the boys that the manufacturing plant manager was found shot dead and robbed. That same day the newspaper reports that "Chopper" Channing has escaped from custody. Now Chuck and P.T. wonder just who they may have flown to the manufacturing plant that day. Was it Mr. Taylor or was it "Chopper" Channing?

A wealthy businessman driving with his teenage son hits a parked car on the side of a highway fatally injuring the passenger. Arriving at the scene, Chuck and P.T. are given a description of the car by the police detective and give chase. They follow the car and lead the police to the businessman's residence. When they confront the son, he says he was driving alone. After the victim dies at the hospital, Chuck and P.T. find themselves having to prove they saw two men in the car when the father attempts to discredit them and save his son from a manslaugter charge.

Episode 99. Wanted - Alive
Old Whirlybirds friend and airplane pilot, Pappy Reagan, has disappeared. The Civil Air Patrol ask Chuck and P.T. to help find their old friend. Soon they find Pappy's plane appearing to have crashed in a secluded area and Pappy dead in the pilot's seat. Upon inspection of the plane, it appears that a passenger was with Pappy when the plane went down. An investigation quickly begins to try to determine who and where the passenger is. Things really get confusing when it's learned that Pappy was already dead before he ever went up in the plane.

Episode 100. The Deacon
Chuck and P.T. are hired by a traveling deacon to take him to a small town's womens charity event but soon find the "deacon" is a shrewd con artist that is known by the town sheriff and threatened by some local hoods. The con artist soon involves Chuck and P.T. in a scam to acquire some money to help pay for the women's club's use of the stage and hopefully get out of town in one piece.

Episode 105. Mr. Jinx
A reporter, Steve Alexander, who seems to have trouble follow him, asks Chuck and P.T.to fly him to a prison farm to interview a convict to try to get a new trial. The convict declines the offer and wants to just do his time. After their trip, the boys learn that they unwittingly flew the convict inside their 47J and he then drove off in their car. As Chuck, P.T., and "Mr. Jinx" fly off to try to find the convict, they learn the police have arrest warrants out on them for helping the convict escape. Now they have to find the convict, prove their innocence, and hopefully keep the convict from succeeding in a planned revenge scheme.

Episode 109. Man, You Kill Me
Dizzy Fergusen, a famous jazz performer, hires Chuck and P.T. to fly him to town for a gig at a nightclub. That evening at the club, Dizzy and the boys get approached by a girl, Cynthia Fairchild, who was supposed to take Dizzy to the club. Dizzy tells the girl not to worry about it. A local hood, Lenny Drake, comes up to them to ask Dizzy to play at his clubs. Dizzy declines and Drake tells Dizzy not to play anywhere else. The next day, Dizzy is gunned down in a cab outside of the Whirlybirds hangar. The police start looking at Lenny Drake as the possible suspect but he has an alibi. Cynthia Fairchild's father, a wealthy businessman, comes to the boys and asks them to keep his daughter's name from being included in the investigation. Now Drake is in a car missing somewhere. Chuck an P.T. help nab Drake but is he the killer?

Episode 111. Four Little Indians
After the Assistant District Attorney is murdered and the Sheriff's airplane is sabotaged, Chuck and P.T. receive a letter that says "one down, four to go". They figure that they are being targeted by Joe Cagan, who supposedly has robbed the Lane company and they helped to capture. Cagan escapes but is captured and insists he is innocent of the robbery and the attempted murders. The Sheriff, with Chuch and P.T.'s help, devises a plan to prove whether or not Cagan is truly being framed for the robbery and the murder attempts.
